About Us
What is the Future?
Welcome to "The Future Sports," a grassroots girls basketball program committed to empowering young women through the game. Our mission is to help athletes unlock college opportunities while competing at the highest level across the U.S. We take pride in success, with many of our student-athletes advancing to college and even reaching professional ranks. By joining our family, your child will develop their basketball skills and learn invaluable life values that will guide them as they grow into productive citizens.

Our Story
"The Future" basketball program began in 1999 as a way to showcase the talents of two 8th graders, Lacey Simpson and Angel Jones, and later expanded to include older players from the Waukegan area. The program featured athletes like Shay Pettis, Kim Lang, Tanisha Jones, Brianna Oglesby, Dominique Moses, Keisha Smith, and Candice Williams. Its mission was to teach basketball while exposing these players' skills to a wider audience.
In 2003, the program officially became "The Future" under the Michael T White grassroots initiative, playing for seven years before joining the Adidas Grassroots team. In 2013, they won the Adidas Springtime National Championship in the 17u division. After disagreements with Adidas, the team returned to Michael T White's grassroots circuit, collaborating with Ryan Poke and later joining the Certified Basketball circuit. The partnership with Certified Basketball helped produce college athletes like Ladellia Magget, Krystal Walker, Juliunn "Juju" Redmond, Tekia "T-Baby" Mack, Jazza Johns, and Morgan Callahan. The program continues to grow and looks forward to its future successes.
